Madina MP Launches ‘Islam Project’

Member of Parliament (MP) for Madina constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Hon. Francis Xavier Sosu has over the weekend launched a project known as the ‘Islam Project ‘.

The project aim was to bridge the gap in education between the rich and poor, and to also embark on a number of infrastructure development including the building and renovation of mosques, schools, scholarships for the brilliant but needy students and skills training for the zongo youth.

Addressing journalists after the launch, Hon. Sosu explained that the project was motivated during his campaign tour prior to the 2020 general elections.

His visit to number of zongo communities in the constituency afforded him the opportunity to see the need to put in place programs and policies to uplift the living condition of the people.

According to him, the constituency is largely dominated by the Muslim faith and youth adding that his priority as a leader would rely heavily on skill training and education of the young people to the bighest level.

Part of the process to give them better lives, according to him was through assessment and building of their capacity to prepare them for the job market.

Hon.Sosu pledged that the ‘Islam Project ‘ would be rollout in all corners of the constituency and the achievement at the end of his 4 year tenure will be explosive.

On his part, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the project Mr. Tawfiq Mohammed was very optimistic of achieving the full objectives of the project.

He indicated that the project would be a beneficiary to all irrespective of tribe or religion.
