MADINA MP TO ORGANIZE FREE HEALTH SCREENING FOR DRIVERS IN HIS CONSTITUENCY
The Honourable Member of Parliament (MP) for the Madina Constituency, Hon. Francis Xavier SOSU in an interactive tour of parts of the Constituency including major lorry stations has revealed a Free Medical Screening Outreach for drivers at major lorry Stations. This Outreach will be part of the MP’s “HEALTH PROJECT” for the Constituency.
The MP used the opportunity to thank the various driver unions and their members for their tremendous support whiles he was seeking their mandate to represent them in parliament.
The MP discussed issues pertaining to the development of the lorry station, measures to enhance the wellbeing and welfare of drivers. He again reiterated his intention to partner them and other major stakeholders to develop the station in an effort to reducing the perennial flooding and improve sanitation. The MP was convinced the move will ensure the physical and psychological well-being of drivers.
The drivers complained of the increasing cost in fuel prices as not reflective of their charges and the cost of maintaining their Vehicles on very deplorable roads.
The MP assured them of quality and effective representation which included, giving a loud voice to their needs on the floor of parliament and lobbying for infrastructural development for the Constituency. He mentioned that, he was soon going to embark on lightening up the Constituency by providing some undisclosed number of street lights to the Municipality and was sure, the lorry Stations will benefit from the gesture.
The Executives of the Unions expressed appreciation to the MP for his visit. The people who were visibly excited at the visit of the MP demonstrated and assure him of thier unflinching support in reliazing his developmental vision for the constituency.
