Akin as a wounded lion, the Madina Constituency chapter of the National Democratic Congress( NDC) has vowed to leave no stone Unturned to recapture the parliamentary seat it lost to the ruling New Patriotic Party ( NPP) in the 2016 general election.
Chairman for NDC in Madina, Alhaji Abdul Rahman Rahim, a.k.a Alhaji Survival said the party is embarking on vigirous grassroots level campaign , dubbed “house -to -house and door -to -door” to sell the message of the party.
According to him, Ghanaians have lost hope in the Akufo Addo led government which is engulfed in unending high level of corruption, intimidation of citizens critics to his government and unprecedented level of crime and insecurity.
Alhaji Survival made these known when he addressed party faithful after inauguration of ward campaign teams at Tatana South and North Legon in Madina over the weekend.
He told the ward campaign team members that the key operation of the party rescue mission is unity and hard work in order to take back the seat.
“You must work together as a team and ensure that the NDC message reach out to everycorner in the constituency. Ghanaians are already fed up with this government that promised many but delivered nothing,” he charged the campaign teams
Turning on the parliamentary seat which is currently occupied by Boniface Sadique Abubakar of the NPP, Alhaji Survival served notice that the days of Boniface Sadique and President Akufo Addo led administration in the constituency are numbered.
He said the people of Madina have come to realised that electing Hon. Boniface Sadique was the greatest mistake ever and have since revised their notes awaiting him (Boniface) on the December 7, general elections.
The NDC Constituency Chairman said for almost four years the NPP could not boost of any tangible development project or programme brought for the people of Madina, stating’ ” even Madina as one of the biggest Zongo community of this country has not got even a block from the so call Ministry of Zongo.”
“This has affirmed our position that, the Zongo Ministry was just to deceive the people in Zongos for votes,” Alhaji Survival added.
He later told EXPRESS NEWS in an interviewthat, if the NDC wins the December 7, presidential and parliamentary elections better and brightest days would return to the country and the people of Madina would enjoy the dividend of democracy to the fullest.
The Chairman expressed confidence in the ability of Lawyer Francis Xavier Sosu, the NDC parliamentary candidate to deliver to the people of the dividend of democracy if elected.
“No doubt the task and focus of our PC will be on the December 7, general election that is just three months away. We are going to win and send Boniface and Akufo Addo packing out for non-performance,” he said.
Alhaji Survival however appealed to the people of Madina to be wise and vote rightly in the upcoming general elections so as to free themselves of political slavery under Akufo Addo regime.
The campaign team forTatana South were Awal Mohammed, Abdul-Jalil Yakubu, Ibrahim Abdul-Kadiru, Alhaji Yakubu Amadu Bawa, Alhaji Abubakar Yussif, Faisal Musah, Alhaji Abubakar Amadu Toloba, Raphael Agbeko, Innocent Dodzie, Emmanuel Baffour, Barkisu Musah, Fati Iddrisu, and Marcelline Dzidah.
The North Legon ward includes Issaka Natama, Prosper Akey, Daniel Tetteh, Tawfiqur Mohammed, Maxwell Baidu, Razak Mohammed, Prince Deku, Abdula Kassim, Salifu Yakubu, Beatrice Lawson, Princilla Plange, Abdulai Yahaya, Victoria Yanni, Issaka Sweety, and Kwaku Duah.
