The facility which serves six other communities has for the past five year being operating with only one delivery bed
Francis -Xavier Sosu, the MP for Madina has donated delivery beds to the Danfa Health Centre to enhance health care delivery at the facility.
The facility which serves six other adjoining communities has for the past five years been operating with a single delivery bed.
The development has over the years compelled most pregnant women to access other facilities for delivery.
Speaking at a community durbar on Saturday (16 October ) to hand over the beds to the facility, the MP for Madina said the gesture was in line with ensuring good health delivery in the area.
“Not only should we have health facilities but all the equipment needed to ensure that people can achieve good health,” he said.
“This centre has just one delivery bed which has broken down and they have always been struggling, a lot of women who are due to deliver fear to come here because they know the delivery bed is not good,”
“As you know health is a fundamental human right as well and how do you achieve that right without the appropriate equipment,” he asked.
On her part the in charge of the Danfa Health Centre appealed to individuals and philanthropist to emulate the gesture of the MP.
