As part of his social intervention and humanitarian policies, the Member of Parliament for Madina, Lawyer Francis-Xavier Sosu is leading a public fundraising campaign to for an amount of USD$6000, to enable a three year old toddler, Selasi Gbetey, undergo a heart surgery.
The Human Rights lawyer is leading the fundraising through Treasure of Life Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) founded by the law maker
Little Selasi Gbetey who lives with his single mother in the La-Nkwantanang Madina Municipality is suffering from a medical condition known in the medical field as atrioventricular septal defect (AVSD), otherwise known by the general public as hole-in-heart.
Medical doctors who have examined and confirmed Selasi’s condition have said an amount of $6,000 (¢34,500) is required to ensure a successful repair of young Selasi’s heart
Mother of Selasi, a single mother who has become financially distressed due to his condition cannot afford such a medical bill.
The distressed woman has, therefore, called upon the Treasure of Life Foundation to help her raise funds from the general public.
“I really need help. So I am pleading with all; those who can help me, I am pleading that they support me so that doctors can perform the surgery,” the mother of Selasi pleaded.
As a result, the Madina lawmaker, Francis Sosu on compassionate grounds reached out to Selasi’s mother to raise funds for little Selasi to undergo the heart surgery.
The law maker however urged the Ghanaian public , especially persons with compassionate hearts to generously donate to save the little boy Selasi, as he could the savior of the nation ~in~ one day.
“Having called upon me, I want to use my platform to reach out to all my friends and partners out there. Those in medics, those in business or whatever you do; I need you to help me to reach out to our little child, he needs our help,” he said.
